Blassey explains, “Because of the size of the windows and the entire glass door, you’re not only showcasing the outside of the home, but the inside.” It’s a unique and beautiful overlap. Blassey adds this won’t be a challenge for the couple as they always keep the house clean. Thoughtful details such as the porch’s recessed lighting and the slender silhouette sweetgum tree prevent blocking the windows.
The wood column is the most distinct aspect of the porch as it brings a sense of nature to an industrial setting. Since moving in, the couple has worked on the landscaping and added a horizontal slatted fence that shortens in front of the porch. The wood fence gracefully leads your eye all the way up to the porch column as it is the same stain. Its black hardware and lantern fence toppers match the home’s black trim.
