Knightsbridge Academy Offers Faith-Based, Private Curriculum For Students In Grades 5-10

Parents of Knightsbridge Academy students indicate their youths thrive in the educational environment created at this Greenwood school. Teachers at the academy vow that their students realize possibilities are endless for those motivated to achieve and advance while excelling in academics.

Knightsbridge Academy School Director Teri Manship says, "Our curriculum is very strong academically while also nourishing the whole student and building character.”

Teri says the teachers aim to exceed Indiana's academic standards. “We deliver hands-on instruction and experiences in small group settings, which nurtures brain development and creates lifelong learners. We encourage our students to be critical thinkers, solve problems, articulate ideas and live life beyond pencil and paper.”

Students at this school also enjoy “bridge classes” designed to open doors to their futures. For example, students volunteer at various locations, as well as learn financial skills, computer skills, cursive writing, sign language, art, robotics, physical education/sports, etiquette, STEM and Spanish.

Additionally, the academy's students have the opportunity to learn how to work within an innovative academic finance system in which they practice earning mock money, saving and making example deposits. They practice paying bills weekly for rent, Wi-Fi, phones and utilities, too. They also 'shop' and learn to have credit or debit cards in responsible ways.

Classroom duties also are part of Knightsbridge Academy students' responsibilities to build ownership and accountability skills.

A new offering from the academy to parents of homeschooled students is the opportunity for students to attend particular classes, such as math, science, language arts or social studies. For parents who wish to supplement their homeschool curriculum, students may enroll in one or more courses in an individual, à la carte fashion.

"Our students get what we consider 'a whole child experience,' because this is truly education, not just a school," asserts Teri.
