It’s said time and time again that children are our future. Bryan’s House, a local nonprofit that has been active in Dallas for more than 30 years, provides underserved children with specialized medical, educational and therapeutic care and holistic support services for children with special needs and their families.
Bryan's House is an IMPACT agency developing progressive and accessible pathways to inclusion for at-risk children with special needs across North Texas. Through medically managed onsite early childhood development and case management, Bryan’s House addresses the diverse needs of children (birth to age 21) who are medically fragile or have social, emotional, and physical challenges. Bryan’s House serves at-risk children with a wide variety of diagnoses, including Autism, seizures, heart conditions, Down Syndrome, Leukemia, hearing or vision loss, Cystic Fibrosis, and rare conditions.
"As I see the mission of Bryan's House in action, and as I meet the many members of the community who rally around the cause, my heart is filled with joy, “ says Lisa Petty, Chair of the Jubilee Society of Bryan’s House, a group of ambassadors that hosts events, donation drives, and volunteer opportunities. “I'm proud to join forces with a local organization that is dedicated to creating bright futures for children with special needs.”
Bryan's House is changing children's trajectories for life and revolutionizing the "medical-special education-therapy-family support' model of care. Services that touch each aspect of life ensure stability so that the families can not only survive but thrive, as a whole unit.
"I was drawn to Bryan’s House because of the welcoming volunteer environment and their mission to provide holistic support services for children and families,” says Mary King-Moore,
Communications Chair for the Jubilee Society. “As a mom to an adopted child who learns differently, I am passionate about finding ways to help parents and their children with special needs thrive."
The organization hosts its primary fundraising event annually, and this year, the Pathways to Inclusion Luncheon, Awards and Special Needs Summit focuses on how companies can create pathways to inclusion in the workplace for adults with special needs. An important topic for Bryan’s House as they work to positively impact the trajectories for children with special needs now and in the future.
The event will take place September 22, 2021, at the Belo Mansion. Attendees will enjoy lunch, raffle, and an emcee-led discussion featuring thought leaders who are working to increase diversity and inclusion for those with special needs in the workforce. Hiren Shukla, EY Global and Americas Neuro-Divers Center of Excellence Leader is a featured speaker. Mr. Shukla has been featured on 60 Minutes and other national news programs for his work at EY ensuring neurodivergent job seekers aren’t overlooked.
The goal for Bryan’s House is to raise $225,000 to provide families with excellent and vital services in the coming year.
