In an era where the majority of entertainment is coming at us from a blue screen, it’s an extra special luxury to treat ourselves and our sweetheart to a night out with the arts. Luckily, Franklin and Nashville have an abundance of options when it comes to choosing your desired art avenue. All you need to do is grab your better half and indulge in some quality cultural time together. What could be better on a crisp February night to warm things up than a romantic date night that includes dinner, drinks, art and theater? You’ll look forward to it all week, think about it the following day and begin planning your next date before this one ends.
Category I – Nashville Repertory Theatre
Head downtown, grab dinner and swing in to TPAC to watch a production by the Nashville Repertory Theatre. Nashville Rep does not disappoint with its award-winning productions and atmosphere in the Johnson Theater. Live theater is a fun way for you and your date to bond and share an experience. On special evenings you can find fun events in the lobby, and any night you can grab a drink and canoodle before a show. Really want to impress your date? You can also catch post-show talkbacks or cast meet and greets. Get a date night package of two tickets plus two drinks from the lobby bar.
Category 2 – Pull-Tight Players
Theater can often seem distant when you are seated at a large venue. Enter the Pull-Tight Players. The 90-seat theater makes for an intimate setting and an immersed audience. Not only do they provide entertainment, but they also provoke conversation allowing the audience members to learn about each other. They seek to evoke a closeness with and among the audience. The Pull-Tight Theater performs only 10 shows of each production, and all tickets are under $20.
Category 3 – Franklin Art Scene
Want to spend time strolling, talking and cuddling with your date? Look no further than the monthly art crawl through downtown Franklin. Kick your Friday evening off wandering through the charming historic square all while looking at beautiful creations from Williamson County talent. Set your own time table as you listen to music, watch street performers and fall in love with art (and maybe each other) all over again!
Category 4 – O' Be Joyful
A local, intimate bar with only 40 seats, O' Be Joyful was made for a date night; created by a husband and wife team using all artisan and handmade local items for a truly rustic, romantic and warm feel. You can start the evening by sharing a flight selecting from more than 200 whiskeys and linger long after you’ve had your share of their elevated bar fare. Want complete privacy? Ask for the cave to have your night entirely to yourselves. No reservations—it’s first come, first served.
