Day in the Life of a Personal Wardrobe Stylist

Robanne Schulman Shares Her Style

There is no typical day for this Force of Fashion, Cyclone of Chic, Tsunami of Taste, as many people have referred to Robanne Schulman, the high-energy, quick-witted founder of Taste & Tenacity.

6:00 a.m. Wake up! Grab coffee, coffee and more coffee. Get dressed in cute carpool clothes.

7:00 a.m. Burn wheels to carpool, then head back home to officially start my day. Work out, grab some kind of bar/protein shake, review my schedule…organize, and make preparations for TV style segments and article contributions.

8:00 a.m. Meet with a new client at her home to present curated capsule wardrobe pieces for her European trip, with the goal of easy packing and easy, interchangeable ready-to-go looks. Note any additional needs, sizes.

9:00 a.m. Get a call from the owner of Sabot, Desiree, telling me they received a new shipment of a very coveted European line and fly over so I can get first pick for my clients, and myself.

10:00 a.m. (Can’t get there any later or my parking spot will be taken!)  While shopping at Hermes, with my favorite team member Akin, we catch up on life and style scarves 20 ways in 20 seconds. I love perusing the new fall line of handbags, accessories and clothing for men and women, noting a few items that will be perfect for a seasoned client I’ve been shopping with for over 10 years.

11:30 a.m. Boozy Lunch with my gals ;) then visit my other fave stores in the Buckhead Village District: Alice and Olivia, Intermix, and Moncler, my latest love. As we discovered last year, taking style directly to clients was essential. So working with Moncler, I now do private styling suites, where we can go to someone’s home, or a hotel suite to create a private curated experience for a select group.

When there is no boozy lunch, I put it into high gear and work through lunch - typically taking this time to continue to finish chapters in my upcoming book, work on my podcast, “Stylehub,” and make @TasteAndTenacity Instagram reels related to fashion and anything funny-because life isn’t fun if you can’t be funny- just sayin’…

1:30 p.m. More coffee (seriously). Quickly moving to the next task, an “E-Style Seasonal Check-In” via FaceTime, with a long-time client to confirm what is needed for the upcoming season. Shop local boutiques that have her fave designers and research online options. Have boutiques pull favorites for her ASAP. I know how fast the good stuff goes so if you don’t have a sense of urgency, you shouldn’t be chasing anything. Coordinate shipping for style boxes and have items shipped overnight from online stores of confirmed “likes.”

3:00 p.m.  Speed thinking in carpool, because I’ve gotta make use of every minute of every working hour… I hunt down specific items across the country with my boutique babes for clients who love unique and hard to find designers. Call all boutique contacts and text to await pics of the latest, most wanted arrivals. While waiting on pics, also mix/match swatches from pics I’ve taken for my made-to-measure client. His request, to pick one jacket, five pants and six shirts that will all work together.

4:00 p.m. Race home to do a style sesh on what the new 9-5 will look like for a seasoned client who has not been in the office since the beginning of Covid. Adjust the looks according to her style and what the current working environment is like. Create a catalog of items, send the links to her to purchase. Done and done.

4:30 p.m. Daily client convos: discuss new wardrobe options with new clients who have either been recently divorced, recently widowed, have a new job or want a better job. Basically, any life change that ultimately requires a need for one’s style to evolve quickly. Or, do a wardrobe makeover, pulling client pieces that are classic and will blend well with a few new pieces, then donate the “non-keeps” to a charity.

5:30 p.m. “Online Shopping Crash Course.” Teach old and new clients how to shop the internet, as inventory continues to dwindle in department stores and does not mirror what the website depicts. I also share many hacks to save money and time while still achieving their ultimate wardrobe.
