This December, Delaney’s Market of Westfield celebrates one year, and General Manager, Heather Sullivan, couldn’t be more thrilled! A western mass native, Heather settled in Westfield many years ago, to raise her four children. As a member of Westfield's school committee, and her past involvement in the Business Improvement District program, she loves being involved in the community. It was such a pleasure to take some time to chat with Heather and hear more.
What is Delaney’s Market?
Delaney’s Market is a retail store that features chef inspired ready-made meals that are fresh, and ready to serve with no real effort. It also features a great selection of wine and craft beers, perfect accompaniments for any dinner! Delaney’s Market strives to assist the busy individual or family that wants to eat a quality lunch or dinner at their home or work without the hassle of long prep times and/or high costs.
What excites you about Delaney's Market in Westfield?
I am excited that we're a new business, we're doing well, and that people come in and feel so comfortable in the store. It feels like a genuine market. We provide old-fashioned customer service; we are able to describe all of our foods because we are able to taste everything. We stand behind the quality of our food. People are comfortable coming to us, and allowing us to make things right, if they are dissatisfied.
What services does Delaney's Market offer?
We put together family meal packages, that includes salad and popovers. We provide catering services at the store for up to 10 to 15 people. For the holidays, we are going to offer custom build-your-own themed baskets using our various products.
How do you support the community?
We support the military, teachers and first responders with 10% off every day. In September, we did a 20% off for all teachers. We are also very involved in community fundraising and charity efforts with gift card donations. Additionally, all food that can't be frozen is picked up two to three times a week, and we donate it to the soup kitchen.
Why visit Delaney's Market?
We serve up read-made meals, delivered fresh daily. There are oven and microwave instructions on the package to simply reheat and eat, whether it is an individual or family meal. As the food remains fresh for 2 to 3 days from the sell-by date, customers can feel comfortable purchasing meals ahead.
What is next for Delaney's Market in Westfield?
My goal is to continue expanding our reach throughout the community, engaging the residents in what we offer. We have people visit us daily who are new customers, and that excites me!
