Designer DIY: The Perfect Centerpiece

Daniel Joyner and Efrain Reyes Espinoza, owners of The Event Design Studio, share their expertise

A beautiful centerpiece is the anchor of a tablescape. With holidays drawing near, these tips from Daniel and Efrain will guide you in creating your own tabletop crowd-pleaser. “This centerpiece is rectangular but the same principles can be applied to a round or square base” says Daniel, who used inset rectangular glass vases on the interior of the metal trough for placement and perkiness. eventdesignstudiony.com

GREENERY

Place greenery as the foundation of your centerpiece. This arrangement elegantly showcases varying shades and textures of lush autumnal greenery including cascading Seeded Eucalyptus, Dusty Miller, Copper Beech, Smoke Bush, Thistle Green, and Ornamental Purple Kale.

2   FLORALS

Work in your largest blooms then sprinkle in smaller florals. For an unexpected seasonal style, mix lighter tones with deep, rich shades. Shown are Burgundy Brunia, Charming Cornielle Garden Roses, Mocha Spray Roses, Upright Amaranthus Burgundy, Mini Calla Lilies, and Burgundy Holland Hydrangea.

3   ACCENTS

Weave thoughtful accents throughout. Daniel added Broom Corn, Lotus Pods, Scabiosa Pods, and Natural Wheat. Adjust the flow of all elements and create pops of height to add interest. Now admire your designer-worthy centerpiece!
