STAGES St. Louis has announced its 35th Anniversary Season, which includes the much requested return of the most popular show in STAGES history, Always...Patsy Cline, starring American Idol alum and Broadway star Diana DeGarmo.
A country girl from Georgia, Diana says she's a huge Patsy Cline fan and loves her story and her music.
Diana has been blowing away audiences with her powerful voice and irresistible charm for nearly two decades. She was runner-up on American Idol’s Season Three at the mere age of 16. Soon after, she released her first single, "Dreams," that reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart.
Diana soon made her Broadway debut as Penny Pingleton in Hairspray and toured with BKLYN: The Musical, in the title role. Her path in musical theatre continued to grow and in 2010, Diana joined the Broadway revival of Hair as Sheila. There she met her now husband, Ace Young. The two quickly became a dynamic singing/song-writing team and toured together, co-starring in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Diana also made a name for herself on the #1 Daytime TV Drama, “The Young and The Restless” as troublemaker and fan favorite, Angelina Veneziano. In addition, she recently starred as Lucy in the South Korean Tour and NSMT productions of Jekyll & Hyde. Her new album, Gemini, has just released.
STAGES is also thrilled to include in its 2021 lineup the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning masterpiece A Chorus Line, Broadway sensation Jersey Boys, and the Family Theatre Series production of A Year with Frog and Toad.
2021 not only marks the 35th Anniversary Season for STAGES, but also the move into its new home in The Ross Family Theatre at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center. The 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility features the 529-seat Ross Family Theatre, where all future productions of the Mainstage Season will play, and a flexible studio theatre, which will serve as home for the Family Theatre Series.
Performances begin May 28, 2021. New subscriptions go on sale January 11; single tickets March 15 at: StagesStLouis.org/subscriptions/.
