Diane Quon, an acclaimed documentary film producer, will be the keynote speaker for the GPF Foundation’s 8th Annual Event. The much-anticipated gathering is scheduled for October 16th at the picturesque Northmoor Country Club. Attendees can look forward to an inspiring event featuring one of the most significant voices in contemporary documentary filmmaking.
Quon, a mother of four and North Shore native, is deeply committed to impactful storytelling and bringing diverse narratives to the forefront. Her filmography includes several critically acclaimed works that have resonated with audiences and critics alike.
Two of her most stylish films are "Minding the Gap," an Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning documentary exploring racial and economic disparities through the lens of a skateboarding community, and "Hale County This Morning, This Evening," which garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature. She also produced "For the Love of a Man," a poignant exploration of masculinity and mental health. Quon’s work often delves into themes of identity, social justice, and the human condition, making her a powerful and relevant voice for today's world. Her body of work makes her ideally suited to explore the theme for the Annual Event - “An Evening of Lens & Light.”
Larry Potash, a co-anchor for the award-winning WGN-TV Morning News, will interview Quon and emcee the event.
The GPF Foundation, a dedicated not-for-profit organization based in Lake Forest, has been a beacon of positive change in the community for nearly a decade.
