The numbers back up the ambition. Recon hard coolers are up to 30 percent lighter than traditional rotomolded models thanks to their injection-molded construction, and they still hold ice for up to 8 days. "We challenged the assumption that a high-performance cooler has to be heavy," Diamond says.
The coolers also feature a dual-opening lid, which flips from either side or comes off entirely, a small detail that solves a very real problem for anyone who has ever had to unpack half a truck bed just to grab a drink. "That's especially valuable when it's packed into a vehicle, truck bed or crowded tailgate setup," says Diamond.
