Dr. E.J. Traynor attended Washington University in St. Louis for dental school. She went on to complete a one-year hospital residency at Barnes/Jewish Hospital at the Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis. Dr. Traynor also completed her 3 year periodontal surgical residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 1999, she moved to Greenwich to open her own private practice.
Dr. Traynor started the local Seattle Study Club: The Greenwich Study Club in 2008. She currently serves as the director of the club, which consists of local general dentists and dental specialists interested in furthering their knowledge to provide excellent care to each and every patient that comes into their practice.
She also began a dental hygienist study club with the goal to bring together hygienists and help further their knowledge of periodontal disease and how it can be detected and treated.
Dr.Traynor is also a member of several professional organizations: American Academy of Periodontics, Seattle Study Club, American Dental Association, Northeast Society of Periodontists, Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Greenwich Dental Society.
We asked Dr. Traynor what is one thing she wants people to know about the advanced services she provides and she said this, “You do not have to lose your teeth due to gum disease or recession. Periodontics is about regenerating the bone that was lost to gum disease and regenerating the gum tissue that was lost to recession.”
