Eat Fresh, Support Local

Shop at Common Market and Support Local Food Producers All Summer Long

The Common Market has about 205 local vendors in its two stores located on West Seventh Street and Pike. “Local” is considered anything produced within 200 miles of Frederick. Of those, 106 are from Maryland and 22 are from Washington, D.C. The rest are from VA, WV and PA. Stop by both locations all summer long to pick up fresh food and support local food producers.

Twin Bears Bakery specializes in creating naturally fermented breads in the French tradition of Pain Au Levain. Head bakers Jay Switlick and Andrew Roy use locally sourced grains and ingredients to create some of the best breads the area has to offer. As traditional bakers Jay and Andrew complete many of the processes by hand that are typically completed by machines in modern bakeries. Fresh local flour combined with a traditional hands-on approach to baking produces a bread that is as unique and diverse as this wonderful area we all call home.

"Common Market has always been supportive of our core mission of supporting Farmers, Millers and Communities through bread." - Andrew Roy
