Bomba Taco+Bar opened for business in Newtown during February, and quickly became a driving force in distinct taco-themed dining and drinks.
Located on Eagle Road, the corner spot offers an indoor and outdoor food experience, and can house 170-plus guests between the dining room, bar and patio, says Andy Himmel, CEO, Paladar Restaurant Group.
The unique chain started in Ohio, where there are three locations. The Newtown spot is the second in the region with the first being in Malvern. As the creation of Paladar Restaurant Group, Andy says Bomba brings a new delicacy, coupled with a fun atmosphere, to the area. Paladar also operates a sister brand under the moniker Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar.
THE UNIQUE PLAY
Bomba ratcheted up the offering of tacos by several levels, with a wide variety of extremely exotic versions, including Nashville hot chicken, the plant daddy, Vietnamese meatball and Korean surf'n'turf. They also offer “Bomba bowls,” and a nice selection of house-made guacamole that includes a “craft your own” option. "It's all about an elevated dining experience," says Andy.
AN APP WITH PURPOSE
“Social Club” is the Bomba app, a name as cool as the app itself. Outside of the usuals, such as ordering online and building points, the app offers a free taco each month with purchase, which could easily drive a customer to try everything on the menu. It’s also the easiest way to stay updated on events and specials.
FUN MERGED WITH DELICIOUS
Eating is considered a utility by some, fulfilled by ordering and consuming food. Bomba has taken this need and fused it with giving guests a fun experience. The restaurant is filled with vibrant colors and music, and is more of the local place to be than just a food hall. Andy adds that their vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options are excellent choices for dietary restrictions.
COCKTAILS AND DREAMS
Bomba is quickly becoming known as the “Hometown Hangout” for happy hours. Scratch-made cocktails of all types and signature margaritas, a fan favorite, drives patrons to the site to decompress after long days, assures Andy.
