Joffa is a nonprofit artisan marketplace based in Memphis that partners with nonprofit and fair trade sustainable retailers worldwide. Through these partnerships, they bring a variety of hand-crafted and ethically sourced products to doorsteps around the world. Joffa's mission is to bridge the gap between makers and buyers, prioritizing the people behind each piece of jewelry, handbag, tote or placemat.
Founder and CEO Brandon Wells was inspired to start Joffa after serving as a missionary in third-world countries. Through his travels, Brandon saw a common challenge faced by many nonprofits looking to grow: the lack of a platform to sell their beautiful, artisan-made goods. Eager to make a difference, he founded Joffa in November 2022.
In just nine months, Joffa was sourcing goods from 38 partners in 15 countries and supporting ten initiatives that aid poverty alleviation, women's empowerment, children's education, adult education and skill development, homelessness reduction, domestic abuse prevention, human trafficking eradication, community development, cultural preservation and environmental impact.
This growth adds up to tens of thousands of hours of employment, substantially impacting communities. Although the impact of Joffa's work begins in its headquarters here in Memphis, it extends to every corner of the globe, providing job skills, fair wages and spiritual investment to its artisans.
