Enjoying a luxury lifestyle community

Aspen Ridge provides a place to connect with others enjoying the same phase of life

With various options in senior living, it can sometimes be difficult to know how to decide on what community to choose when someone begins seeking a more accommodating living arrangement. As a resort-inspired 55+ adult community with numerous amenities, Aspen Ridge in Olathe is a great place to consider.

“We are the first stop for people who are wanting to live in a community with the same interests and the same age demographic,” says Megan Feaster, marketing director with Capstone Real Estate Services.

Megan says their residents are typically people looking to downsize and enjoy a maintenance-free independent-living lifestyle. She says the community is perfect for those who no longer want the responsibility of owning a home but do not need assisted living services. “You don’t have to worry about the unexpected maintenance responsibilities,” Megan says.

With three floors in the building and eleven floor plans of one-and two-bedroom apartments to choose from, there is bound to be something that meets everyone’s needs. The apartments have open floorplans, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a kitchen pantry, wood-style plank flooring, carpet in the bedrooms, and a private patio or balcony.

Aspen Ridge offers an onsite movie theater, heated pool, putting green, activity room, game room, fitness center and hair salon. Fitness trainers offer various classes including chair yoga. Outings in the community using the bus are also an important part of their social calendar as there are many nearby local amenities.

They have a community library and garden, host happy hours and art classes, and serve a hot breakfast buffet once a week and a continental breakfast daily. Partnering with Johnson County for some of their programming gives an opportunity to bring in various speakers as well.

The grounds have secured entry and 24-hour surveillance, and the community is pet-friendly with a dog park for its four-legged residents. The fire pit a favorite place for residents to gather.

Megan says the lifestyle they provide at Aspen Ridge is what makes them unique. She says it is fulfilling to see people who have been primarily homebound for years become more active and regain a sense of community when they come.

Eunice Clark has lived in Aspen Ridge for about three years, and describes it as a peaceful, friendly community that welcomes everyone as they come in. “We all tend to help each other if there is a need,” Eunice says. “We are good neighbors here.”

Eunice says the office staff is truly kind and helpful and an integral part of the community. Overall, she says her favorite part of living at Aspen Ridge is her apartment, which she enjoys immensely.

Megan says it is important for adult children to know that at Aspen Ridge, their parents can become engaged ambassadors in their community once again. While they do not have medical professionals on staff, they are offering a senior health care expo on August 11 that will feature vendors, activities, food and games as a way of helping the Aspen Ridge community get connected with providers and the greater community.

Aspen Ridge offers frequent lease specials, so it is always important to check to see what offers might be upcoming.
