The CLA-class sedan is the first rung on the ladder of Mercedes-Benz ownership. But while it may be looked upon as an entry-level model, it still offers the same sense of luxury and quality that’s associated with the brand’s top-of-the-line vehicles. In fact, the 2020 model was named a MotorTrend Car of the Year finalist.
The 2024 CLA250 doesn’t tweak much from earlier models, maintaining its well-appointed cabin, smooth suspension, and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that launches the car to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. While some CLA250s come with front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is standard on the 4Matic.
The updates come in with the refreshed infotainment system that includes a bigger touchscreen and is capable of wireless smartphone connection. Two new exterior color options—the electric Hyper Blue and the deep, rich Starling Blue—as well new interior trim options and illuminated USB ports enhance to look and driving experience.
Our CLA was outfitted with the optional Burmester audio system, which includes integrated Dolby Atmos software; the $1,700 Driver Assistance package, which features lane assist, advanced automatic emergency braking, and active blind spot monitoring; and the $3,150 AMG Night Package, with AMG styling, gloss black accents and a chrome Star-pattern grille.
