If you think you need a hearing test, you probably do! A thorough assessment can provide a diagnosis of current hearing status in addition to a baseline for future testing. A good starting point would be the three-minute hearing assessment on our website, hearlifeagain.com, or a consultation with one of us. Bottom line: It’s never too soon to get a hearing test - don't wait. The sooner we can diagnose your type of hearing loss, the sooner we can begin treatment and help you Hear Life Again!
Dr. Higginbotham shares her history: My family moved to Boerne in 1992 so I'm essentially a native. I attended the North East School of the Arts in San Antonio and then The University of Texas at Austin. I earned my Doctor of Audiology from The University of Texas at Dallas. After the birth of our oldest son, my husband and I moved back to Boerne to be nearer to family. We have added two more boys to the bunch since then and are so blessed to be able to raise them here. I’ve always been fascinated by ears and Deaf culture. As an undergraduate student I discovered Audiology; the way it blends science and technology with the more subjective emotional experience of hearing loss. I was hooked! I want to know about hearing needs and frustrations - the ways hearing loss is affecting relationships and impacting quality of life. Knowing these things helps me tailor a solution in a more holistic way to help people Hear Life Again.
Introducing Dr. Beschoner: I live in Boerne with my husband and two children, Ellie, 6, and Liam, 3. I grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Clark High School. During my undergraduate studies at Abilene Christian University, I felt a calling to switch majors to Audiology. I graduated from the University of North Texas with my Doctor of Audiology. I love my job because I help people by educating them about hearing loss and providing solutions to improve their quality of life. I also love the diversity of people that I work with. I am contracted with the San Antonio Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide veteran services. I grew up in a military family and have a passion to help serve this population.
Each year Estes Audiology gives away a set of hearing devices to one deserving community member through our Gift of Hearing program. These individuals exemplify the holiday spirit, demonstrate extraordinary kindness, and give back to their community. A panel of community leaders select the winner based on need and community impact. Our Boerne area Gift of Hearing recipient is NAME TO BE PROVIDED.
