Tucker’s Gap Event Center is the realization of a dream that evolved over time, a dream rooted in love, community, and the desire to create a space for others to celebrate their most cherished moments. But it didn’t start as an event venue. It began as an equestrian farm, where Kevin and Christine’s daughter rode competitively. As with many great love stories, their plan changed, taking them in a direction neither of them had quite imagined, but would become a blessing for many.
Kevin and Christine's love story began in 1997, when they married in a small ceremony at Christ Church with only two witnesses. From the start, their shared experiences centered around food, entertainment, and travel, formed the foundation of their relationship. "We value experiences more than gifts or things," Christine shares. "We love going on trips with friends and making lasting memories." Over the years, they built a community of friends who supported them, and it was this same community that helped bring Tucker’s Gap to life. "We’ve been surrounded by hand-picked friends like Matt Campbell, our facilities manager, who’ve helped us succeed," Kevin says. "We’re so grateful for everyone in our lives."
When Kevin and Christine first saw the potential for an event venue on their farm, it was more of a shift in plans than a well-formed dream. The original idea was to build a home and horse barn on the property, but as requests for weddings and parties began to come in to use the barn, the couple saw an opportunity to create something much bigger—house plans turned into building an event center. After some convincing, Christine saw the vision too, and with their friend and neighbor Nancy Baker as General Manager, the project took off. The venue began to take shape, and in just seven months, they hosted their first wedding on June 11, 2016.
Reflecting on their own marriage, Kevin and Christine offer heartfelt advice for couples embarking on their own love stories. “Our best advice is to always work through problems immediately and never bring them up negatively,” Kevin says. “Sometimes it helps to laugh about things because it’s done and we’ve learned from it.” Christine adds, “Respect for each other and a commitment to solving problems together will help you build a long, happy marriage.” This wisdom is something they bring to Tucker’s Gap, creating an environment where love and respect are at the heart of every event.
Their own relationship has always been grounded in simple but meaningful moments, particularly their shared love for date nights. “Our ideal date nights are always centered around food and entertainment—whether it's trying out amazing restaurants or attending a concert,” Christine says. “Those are the moments that make us feel closest and remind us of what truly matters.”
Tucker’s Gap is more than just a place for weddings; it’s a space where couples can begin their own journeys, surrounded by the love and care that Kevin and Christine pour into everything they do. “We love staying in touch with our couples and watching them grow,” they share. “Some have even named their children Tucker, a reminder of the place where their forever began.”
At Tucker’s Gap Event Center, the dream Kevin and Christine built is more than a venue—it’s a community of love and shared experiences. “Your forever dream starts here,” Kevin says. “We’ll give you all of our efforts and care to help make it come true.” And as you’ll see in the stories of the couples who’ve celebrated their love here, every love story is indeed beautiful—especially when it begins at Tucker’s Gap.
Hayden and Caroline
“If you can remodel a house together, you can get through just about anything,” says Hayden White, offering a bit of marriage wisdom that proved true for him and his wife, Caroline. For Caroline, the key to a lasting relationship is simple: “Keep God at the center.” Together, they’ve built a strong foundation that has carried them from their first meeting in first grade to their wedding day one year ago this month (February 24, 2024).
Hayden and Caroline’s love story began in elementary school at Coles Ferry, but it wasn’t until Thanksgiving of 2019, when their dads were frying turkeys, that they reconnected. From that moment, they’ve been inseparable.
Their favorite date nights revolve around exploring new restaurants in Nashville, followed by a visit to the Red Phone Booth for a cozy nightcap; their perfect blend of adventure and relaxation, just like their relationship.
Caroline says Tucker’s Gap was the clear choice because from the moment they toured the venue, they were treated like family. The open, adaptable space was everything they dreamed of for their celebration, making it the ideal place to begin their forever together.
Jonathan and Bonny
Jonathan and Bonny Davis’ love story starts out like they might become teenage sweethearts or maybe even a missed connection, but it was even more unexpected. Backstage at a high school Christmas play, Bonny, a freshman, and Jonathan, a sophomore, collided in the dark when the lights went out. When the lights flickered back on, both thought the other was cute, but never spoke to each other again for the rest of high school. Little did they know, their paths would cross again in the future.
Years later they reconnected, now happily together for six years, married for two. The couple shares that the best marriage advice they received was, “Let conflicts stay in the past once they’re resolved.” This approach has helped them maintain harmony in their relationship, ensuring that disagreements don’t linger and only strengthen their bond.
Their ideal date night? A cozy movie on the couch, Scrabble, sushi, and a few tequila shots to keep things fun.
As for choosing their venue, Tucker’s Gap was their natural choice as it was the place where they had their first date, attending a Sweet 16 party in 2018. "It felt full circle to come back to where it all started for us," Bonny says. With its breathtaking views and sentimental significance, it was the perfect backdrop for their celebration of love, marking both the beginning of their journey and the promise of many more memories to come.
Jessie and Lance
Come ice, snow, and cold, Tucker’s Gap was ready to make Jessie and Lance Harrington’s wedding dreams come true. Despite the unexpected winter weather, including eight inches of snow just days before their wedding, Tucker’s Gap ensured everything went off without a hitch.
Jessie and Lance’s love story began in a way they’ll never forget—at a wedding. Jessie was a bridesmaid in her best friend’s ceremony, and Lance immediately noticed her. After checking that she wasn’t already married, he asked her to dance. She hesitated at first, but only because she wasn’t sure their friends would join in. When they did, the dance floor was filled—and so were their hearts.
Together since October 2019 and celebrating their fourth anniversary this month (February 20, 2021), Jessie and Lance agree on one crucial piece of marriage advice: "Keep God first and always make each other the priority.” Their first date at Awedaddy’s on Old Hickory Lake was a magical evening that set the tone for their relationship, filled with laughter, connection, and a deep sense of shared joy.
Tucker’s Gap, with its breathtaking views and welcoming atmosphere, was the perfect venue for their celebration. With family, friends, and the perfect winter day, Jessie and Lance couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin their forever.
Dane and Elise
Dane and Elise Daniels’ love story began on a Labor Day weekend, when they met at a family lake trip. Two years later, Elise’s uncle, who had known Dane his whole life, encouraged him to reach out. He did, and the rest, as they say, is history. Exactly three years after their first meeting, the couple married on another Labor Day weekend, marking the start of their journey together.
Now, nine years into their relationship and eight years of marriage, the couple has two children and another on the way. Their secret to a lasting marriage? "Always be honest with each other and remember you are on the same team." Whether it’s a quiet evening or an adventurous date night at a new restaurant, the Daniels say they’ve learned to cherish the simple moments together.
"We wanted to be part of the story of Tucker’s Gap, especially as one of the first weddings held there," they say. With its stunning scenery and the personal touch from the owners, it was the perfect backdrop for their celebration; a decision they knew they’d never regret, marking the beginning of a beautiful chapter in their love story.
