According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, 26.2 million surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic and reconstructive procedures were performed in the United States in 2022, and a 19% increase in cosmetic surgery procedures since 2019.
No matter what your thoughts are on plastic surgery, we all can agree that cosmetic treatments that were once best-kept secrets are now accepted and even embraced. Plastic surgery has gone mainstream, and many people—both women and men—are interested in incorporating procedures into their beauty routines.
Dr. Ran Rubinstein had dreams of becoming a doctor to help people—but never considered plastic surgery an outlet for that type of service. "I knew I wanted to go into medicine, but I also had a lifelong interest in art and nature. Growing up, I enjoyed painting and sculpting and was always interested in the world's natural beauty."
Although he loved every rotation throughout medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Rubinstein was especially drawn to otolaryngology, head & neck surgery where he gained extensive exposure to facial plastic surgery during his 5-year residency at UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School. He quickly realized that he had found the perfect match as he was able to channel his love for art with his acumen for science and medicine. Dr. Rubinstein went on to complete a rigorous fellowship in facial plastic surgery at the University of South Florida.
Dr. Rubinstein’s double board certification in both otolaryngology head & neck surgery and facial plastic surgery has given him a unique perspective in complex facial surgeries, such as deep plane facelifts, and rhinoplasty, where he is able to navigate thru complex anatomy and treat both form and function. This dual expertise has also afforded him an advantage in performing more advanced non-surgical injectable treatments such as liquid face lifts and non-surgical rhinoplasty in his New York and Montvale New Jersey office locations.
"Plastic surgery fulfills my artistic side," says Dr. Rubinstein. "Each face is something new and different—a unique, fresh palette. I truly enjoy bringing out the inner beauty of my patients."
As an active member of New York Presbyterian Hospital, he spent over 15 years educating future surgeons as an assistant clinical professor. He is also one of the most sought-after national clinical trainers for non-surgical aesthetic treatments. "I take education very seriously," says Dr. Rubinstein, "it's a way I feel I can give back. Our staff is also highly trained. They are knowledgeable about all the procedures and adept at assessing patients. They are a big part of the success of our practice."
Proper patient assessment is essential to beautiful, natural results. This begins during Dr. Rubinstein's comprehensive consultation. The patient's first appointment consists of analysis of photos taken with the practice's state-of-the-art Vectra 3D computer imaging software and photos of youth brought in by the patient dating back 5 to 20 years. These photos help Dr. Rubinstein create a customized treatment plan based on the patient's goals.
"We take a holistic approach to understand the patient's wants and needs while respecting their budget."
Dr. Rubinstein has successfully completed 1000's of surgical and non-surgical procedures. His unique approach, education and experience are what affords him the ability to provide each patient with customized options to meet their unique needs. Their "short list" of services includes rhinoplasty, deep plane face lifts, blepharoplasty, liquid facelifts, non-surgical rhinoplasty. Dr. Rubinstein has over 20 years' experience injecting hyaluronic acid fillers and biostimulants, such as Sculptra (products that stimulate your own body to produce collagen and volume naturally). Dr. Rubinstein also offers a full-service medical spa to help address his patients' skin care concerns.
Staying true to his dreams of helping people, Dr. Rubinstein enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and Face to Face, an organization that helps victims of domestic abuse receive treatment for facial injuries.
