“Black roofs are always popular because black can be paired with basically every house color. They are sleek, modern, and very versatile. People get nervous sometimes that with a black roof their electric bill will be higher in the summer, but the heat bill in the winter is lower. So here in Colorado, it evens itself out.”
“There is still a draw for CeDUR roofs and concrete tile roofs, but a lot of people are going with Class 4, impact-resistant asphalt roofing shingles. It is one of those game-changers in the industry because they aren't easily damaged in hailstorms. Customers also like standing seam metal accent roofs on their homes.”
Siding:
“James Hardie siding is very popular. It's a fiber cement board that has a wood look, but it is versatile. It is durable, long lasting, low maintenance, and hail resistant. There are a lot of different, cool things that can be done with it that you don’t see with typical vinyl siding, like being placed vertically on a home. We also specialize in custom flashing to go with it that matches the color so that it's not just galvanized metal.”
Decks:
“Customers love composite decking because you don't have to stain it every couple of years, and it requires less maintenance in general. There is also a product that can be installed under the decking that keeps the patio dry below called Trex RainEscape which is very popular.”
Making a big impact:
“Painting your house gives the biggest bang for your buck every time. Depending on the budget, you can change out siding or add an accent wall or scalloped edging. Changing the house color or the color of the gutters and front door also makes a big impact.”
