'Healthy smiles that will last' is the mission of one local, dynamic dental staff. Aaron Sauer, D.D.S., Whitney Marsh, D.M.D., and the Sauer Dentistry team in Greenwood provide comprehensive general dentistry to people of all ages living throughout Johnson County.
Individuals and families can receive all-inclusive dentistry, including preventive care, orthodontics with clear aligners, conscious sedation and root canals. Dr. Sauer says the team also offers cosmetic dentistry, including in-office and take-home teeth whitening, dental implants, crowns, bridges and veneers.
"Our team treats each visitor as a member of the family. We take time to understand everyone's individual symptoms and concerns, and then develop custom treatment plans that encourage optimal oral health and beautiful, vibrant smiles," says Dr. Marsh.
One element of the pain-free dental approach in this office is providing conscious sedation and nitrous available for patients seeking to remain comfortable due to anxiety. Conscious sedation uses oral sedatives or nitrous oxide to help patients relax during dental treatments. Contrary to popular belief, conscious sedation doesn’t cause people to fall asleep. "You might feel drowsy, but you can still follow instructions or answer your provider’s questions," explains Dr. Sauer. "We offer sedatives that are swallowed or inhaled. As a result, there is no anxiety or pain."
Conscious sedation is a good fit for patients who:
- Experience dental anxiety.
- Have a sensitive gag reflex.
- Need extensive dental work done.
- Find it difficult to sit still.
- Have low pain tolerance or incredibly sensitive teeth.
Dr. Marsh says they also apply a topical numbing solution prior to giving injections.
"We take digital X-rays and seek to catch problems earlier before issues become larger ones, and we do digital impressions, which are more comfortable and quicker than traditional, messy alginate impressions," she states.
Sauer Dentistry practice manager Ambrosia Sauer says they provide 3D printing and crown milling in their office to minimize the number of appointments for patients. "We also have two-way text communications so patients can easily request or change a scheduled appointment," she adds.
Ambrosia says oral cameras were installed in every exam room so patients can see what the doctors see.
Dr. Sauer announces their new air polishers for dental cleanings are a gentle and effective way to remove stains and build up on teeth. "We also apply laser dentistry to minimize pain, combat infection and speed healing."
He states that Botox cosmetic and TMJ (temporomandibular) treatment can be done in the office during dental appointments to help ease overall mouth and dental comfort at home.
In addition to personal attention and customized treatments for patients, this dental staff prides themselves in being community leaders. Among the organizations they support are: Center Grove Youth Baseball; Center Grove Bantam Football; Center Grove Youth Basketball; Center Grove High School Football; Center Grove Lacrosse; Center Grove High School Choir; Center Grove High School Orchestra; Perry Meridian Football; Perry Meridian Wrestling; Greenwood High School After Prom; Greenwood Pride; Trojan Tailgater; Carefree Crocodiles Swim team; Center Grove Education Foundation; Mallow Run Winery Wine at the Line; Walk MS, National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Southport High School Mini-Movers; Southport High School The Journal; and the Center Grove High School yearbook and news magazine.
