Trips to the zoo, the mall, and area parks…sounds like a fun summer! These are some of the planned activities at Fairmont Senior Living of Farmington Hills, a community that offers assisted living and memory care services for area seniors.
Finding the right place for seniors with changing needs can be challenging. “Selecting the right community can be hard,” says Oren Jackson of Fairmont Senior Living of Farmington Hills. “My advice would be to ask the potential resident what they want in their new home and look for those things.” Oren notes that many families are looking for activities, increased socialization, 24-hour care, and affordable rates. “We offer all these key points for families and residents,” says Oren, “and the little extras such as good food and smiling faces.”
At Fairmont Senior Living of Farmington Hills, residents are offered three meals per day with snacks and daily activities. “We also provide laundry service and make up beds daily, with 24/7 care led by our Registered Nurses Natalie and Lauren,” says Oren. Living spaces are attractive and designed with their residents’ needs in mind. “We are nearing the completion of our building renovation,” adds Oren, “and it looks great.”
Montessori principles are woven into the Memory Care program at Fairmont. Using the work of the Center for Applied Research in Dementia, this program places an emphasis on group engagement, creating a sense of belonging, and forming social roles for each resident. “There are a variety of daily activities,” says Oren, “such as spiritual services, bingo, and outside trips.”
With several medical techs with over 20 years of experience, and concierges with over 15 years, notes Oren, Fairmont Senior Living of Farmington Hills lives its mission of “enhancing life and advancing wellness.”
