A Local Fall Bucket List

Fall in Chattanooga is a sight to behold. As the leaves change and the air becomes crisp, families throughout the area begin to flock to local farms and orchards. From pumpkin and apple picking to wine tasting and corn mazes, there is no shortage of ways to enjoy autumn with family and friends. With so much to do and see during this season, we've curated a bucket list of locations you don't want to miss.

Smith-Perry Berries

What began as a joint venture between two farmers, Smith-Perry Berries is a farm filled with seasonal activities year-round. Fall at Smith-Perry Berries is arguably the most eventful season, with pumpkin picking, hayrides, cow trains, duck races and much more. The farm also has a barn with artifacts to teach visitors about the work that goes into managing and maintaining a farm.

Flat Top Mountain Farm

Passed down through generations, this family farm boasts beautiful scenery and fall festivities including a scenic hayride and carriage rides to explore the farm's stunning views. The farm also offers flower-picking, pumpkin patches, bonfires for marshmallow roasting, and delicious, ready-to-eat goodies. Visitors can also adventure through two corn mazes and a themed night maze.

Wheeler's Orchard & Vineyard


Peacefully resting atop Fredonia Mountain on the Cumberland Plateau, Wheeler's Orchard & Vineyard is just an hour outside of Chattanooga amidst rolling hills and colorful mountainscapes. Here, you can enjoy a stroll through the orchard, pack a picnic and lay beneath the trees to enjoy an escape in the countryside. Southern Belle Riverboat

The Southern Belle Riverboat is located in downtown Chattanooga on the Tennessee River. Each fall, the boat takes its guests on a fall foliage sightseeing voyage on the river to enjoy the mountain views from the water. The Southern Belle provides concessions so that guests can dine or enjoy a glass of wine as they travel.
