Fall Decor

Tips for fall decorating from in-demand interior design studio, Sunny Road Interiors.

Rafael O’Neill and Laura Lancaster, Sunny Road Interiors owners, have been in business for decades serving Houston’s interior design and decorating set. The duo has cultivated a loyal following because of their penchant for carrying the latest design elements and keeping ahead of trends.

According to Lancaster, autumn is a great time to switch things up in your home and she shares tips to keep your decor fresh throughout the season.

Switch out lighter colors for more jewel-toned vibrant colors and layer up woven materials.

Jewel Tones + Wovens

According to Lancaster, September is a great time to bring in warmer tones like tans and layer up woven materials. The interior designer stresses that details make a difference in seasonal decorating. She encourages clients to swap out the sweets in their candy jars for darker colors and notes that a change in season is a great time to switch photos for more seasonally appropriate winter vacation or pumpkin patch shots.

Lancaster also notes that grays are on their way out, and jewel tones are coming back. “The deep rich velvets and jewel tones like purples, fuchsias, and emerald greens make a big statement right now.”
