Fall Family Fun

Get Everyone Together For Amazing Autumn Adventures

The temperatures are starting to drop, and there’s a crispness in the air once again. Pumpkin Spice lattes have returned to every coffee shop in town, and the sweaters in your closet are just begging to be worn. All of that can only mean one thing: fall has finally come back to the Texas Hill Country.

As the heat of the summer dissipates at last, your family (and your bank account) want a break from the air conditioning and feel ready to venture out and explore. Lucky for you, autumn is a vibrant time in these parts, as we all enjoy the changing of the seasons.

To help you break your outdoor fun fast, we’ve gathered some of our favorite autumn activities this month. We focused on family-friendly excursions for our list, but there’s plenty for everyone to do this fall.

As you and yours go out and enjoy the fall, tag us with “#boernelifestyle” in your photos on Facebook and Instagram. We always love to see all the fun you’re having!

Pipe Creek Pumpkin Patch
Grab the kiddos and your camera to head down Hwy. 46 to this annual family spot. There’s so much to do—hayride, a haystack, farm animals, rubber duck races, and scarecrow dressing are just an idea of the fun to be had. You can even paint a pumpkin to take home! The cost is $6 per person (ages 2 and under are free), and the patch is open every weekend in October.

First UMC Pumpkin Patch
Closer to home, you can pick out your pumpkins at First UMC Boerne’s patch. You’ll find it at The AgriCultural Museum & Arts Center every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through October 22nd. Admission is free, and you’ll find games, food trucks, pumpkin decorating, scavenger hunts, and live music. Make sure your kids wear their fall finest for those adorable autumn photos!

Autumn in Nature at The Cibolo
If your family loves to spend time outdoors, Cibolo Center for Conservation has a lot of activities for y’all. Grab your water bottle and flashlights for a family night hike on October 4th and one for grown-ups on the 18th. Meet the moths and other insects that fly through the night at “Moths, Owls, and S’mores – Oh My!” on the 17th. You might even be visited by a bat or two!

Boerne Boo
The City of Boerne hosts its annual fall festival that’s so much fun it’s scary! Bring the whole family for trick-or-treating, games, bounce houses, food trucks, and more. Dress up as your favorite monster, hero, or pun because you—or even your pet—could win the costume contest. All this starts at 4 p.m. on October 26th at the Patrick Heath Public Library. It’s going to be spooktacular!
