About our location: The Community House is a Birmingham gem in both architecture and function. Tucked into the center of the community, it’s been bringing people together for nearly a century: It was built in 1923 “to promulgate the social, civic and philanthropic life of the village. Continuing its original mission, today’s Community House offers more than 800 classes a year, from yoga and wellness, home and garden (see our TK for details on its 33rd-annual Birmingham House Tour), music, dance and art to self-defense classes for kids and summer camp — all sustained by the donations of those living in and around the region. It’s home to public and private events — glorious spaces indoors and out for weddings, parties and more.
