Fall Style: The Jewelry Edit

Jewelry and how you wear it makes a statement. Traditional fashion rules don’t apply  to mixing and matching your bangles and baubles, whether you’re pairing high-low pieces or a preppy wardrobe with edgy accessories. Bedford’s Jennifer Sarkilahti, designer and founder of Odette New York, gave us the scoop on the timeless-meets-trendy styles this season.

BOLD STRUCTURAL HOOPS

“Hoops are for every season,” says Jennifer, whose jewelry has been worn by influential women including Michelle Obama, Issa Rae, Taylor Swift, Tracee Ellis Ross, Gigi Hadid, Kaley Cuoco, Gabrielle Union and more. “Autumn and winter wardrobes tend to be more subdued, so I like bold structural hoops to add interest. When choosing, I consider the shape, artistry, whether the hoops feel playful or reserved, and if they catch the light.” Shown: Fender Hoops, $180

ARTFULLY LAYERED CHARMS

“I wear monogram charms year-round,  and you can mix them with other styles to add meaning,” Jennifer says, mentioning that charm jewelry has an irresistible nostalgic quality. “I pair a few chains together for a fall look.” For a special touch, Jennifer layers Odette New York’s recently launched eau de parfum, blended and bottled in Brooklyn. “Its airy rose-tinted scent lasts all day.” Shown: Monogram Charm in N & B, $60 each; Mini Heart Charm, $118

MIXED METAL STACKS

“When I style bracelets, I mix brass, gold, and silver tones to add depth,” explains Jennifer, whose designs are defined as modern heirlooms. Crafted from sustainable metals, each season debuts  limited edition pieces among the signature collection. “I also like to pair different weights, from chain link to chunky, to add playfulness and dimensionality.” Odette New York has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Elle and more. Shown: Various styles, $160 - $225
