"Falling in Love" with The Woodlands

Long time resident, Sandra George, shares her memories and memorabilia

Sandra George is a lovely resident that has become a great friend to The Woodlands CL family with regular visits and always a smile and a twinkle in her eye.  She is so delightful and we wanted to share her memories of her family and days in The Woodlands as she fondly recounts " Falling in Love with The Woodlands".  

When did you move to The Woodlands?

1986

What was your first impression and what was the key selling point to moving to this community?

My husband and I stayed in a motel and biked around The Woodlands.  We were sold! We were impressed with its uniqueness.

You have been very active in the community.  What event left the greatest impression on you? What person that you worked with left the greatest impression on you?

Volunteering with WCA events and later the Township events.  The employees are just outstanding in every way!

What committees and events have you been involved with over the years?

Texas Precinct chairman and judge

Montgomery County early voting judge

Montgomery County early Ballot Board Judge

Montgomery County Appraisal District Review Board Member (6 years)

Montgomery County Municipal Utility District #60 Board Director (11 years)

The Woodlands Methodist Church Member and Volunteer

You have all kinds of memorabilia you have brought with you from the 25 year anniversary t-shirts to the commemorative cookbooks.  You share a true love for this community --- what makes The Woodlands so special for you?

I really appreciate the way The Woodlands has grown and developed in such a responsible way.  It just gets better with age.  It truly is a great hometown!

Can you share a secret about The Woodlands you have uncovered over the years?

Having lived here for 38 years, I have learned to time my outings.  It is definitely an Art!
