Operating a specialty farm often means adapting and diversifying in order to stay relevant, while also maintaining deep roots in homesteading practices that create lasting customers. This is exactly what Circle S Farms clearly become experts at, as eighth-generation owners continue the legacy started in 1836.
“We are a generational farm, spanning over 150 years of production agriculture,” says Lily Rose, “Way back when, we used to grow tobacco, corn, and cotton, and processed pigs. Then it transitioned to agritourism where we invite others onto the farm to learn and enjoy agriculture, such as with our pick your own berries and flowers!”
The farm offers year round activities based on the season, including berry picking, lavender and cotton fields, cut your own flowers fields, pumpkin picking and mums in the fall, weddings and events, catering, photography backdrops, Christmas tree fields and more.
The farm offers three different options for Christmas boxes this year, all of them perfect for the foodie in your family, showcasing their top quality pork with jelly picked to order. During the winter months, visitors are welcome to purchase directly from the farm’s smokehouse, at 1445 E Old Laguardo Rd., and their webstore. During the summer months, their store front is open at 1627 E Old Laguardo Rd. Wholesale options are available for those corporate gifts as well.
“We are striving as a farm to move in the direction of what our community wants and needs,” Lily says, “We offer event rentals through The Wedding Woods, and have plans for social media updates and YouTube videos with behind the scenes of farm life and processing, CSA meat boxes, and shipments soon.”
