Both men and women's custom apparel and accessories now can be enjoyed and assembled head-to-toe at 8500 Maryland Avenue, Suite 306, in Clayton. Those seeking fashion-forward, yet comfortable, selections can make this a one-stop shopping hub.
For three decades, Bespoke Apparel has assisted clients with custom clothing. The father-daughter haberdasher team of David Corbitt and Dani Corbitt operated as one of St. Louis' premiere men's clothiers, and are adding new dimensions to their offerings this year.
"Custom clothing is one-of-a-kind because you are. Not everyone is built the same and not everyone should have to fit into the same box. At Bespoke Apparel, we embrace clients' needs. We make garments to fit them, not fit them into garments. We craft garments from the ground up to be perfectly suited to each person's body type and posture. Fantastic fit and the unwavering knowledge that you look amazing is something that everyone should experience," explains David.
Dani reminds that good clothiers listen to their clients. "It’s our job to hear between the lines, and make suggestions that will help enhance our clients’ wardrobes and therefore their lives. Being able to confidently reach into your closet and know that you will always have the right clothing for any situation is empowering, and can give you that little extra boost of confidence at the beginning of the day," she says.
"We tailor clothing not just to our clients’ bodies but to their lives as well," she adds.

Functional Luxury Becomes 'Shoe-In'
A few years ago, St. Louis native Claire Flowers attended a week-long training session in New York City while previously working in information technology. She says that week directed her focus to the need for comfortable, stylish and durable footwear for professional women. She soon quit her full-time technology career to pursue developing those types of shoes, forming Claire Flowers LLC in 2014.
"I never thought of myself as creative, or that I'd be in fashion. But I couldn't find anything in the market that was both durable and cute -- you had to pick one or the other," she explains. "I wanted to stop thinking about what was on my feet and just go about my day."
Claire says she found success in appealing shoes by marrying innovation and classic design. She also added an injection molded rubber to the soles of Claire Flowers heels for added traction to avoid falling on smooth surfaces when the soles are wet. She then expanded her concepts of shoes into designing professional women’s apparel designed to be resilient, versatile and timeless.
Overall sustainability is important to Claire, too. She says one pair of her pumps can replace the use of five pairs from other manufacturers.
During 2020, Claire created and added handbags to her platform.

Collaboration Leads To New Clothing Line
In the few months that these two business teams have been under the same roof, Claire Flowers and Dani Corbitt started creatively collaborating, which led to the desire to launch the Claire Flowers clothing line and to add a clothing-focused showroom in Creve Coeur.
Claire says she launched her shoe line with a focus on professional women, and since expanded into casual shoes. "We plan to do the same with Claire Flowers clothing," she adds. "I'm focused on the design and cohesion of the collection, and Dani is concentrating on measurements, fit, procurement and technical aspects of the clothing."
Referencing that it's unusual to combine owners that hold both design and technical expertise, Claire says the union is a wonderful match for educated women who seek quality and consistency in their full ensembles.
"Claire Flowers footwear and apparel focuses on textiles, silhouettes and colors for professional women who value function and fashion. The new clothing line will provide the same classic, well-made results," she vows.
On Sept. 2, Claire and Dani officially will unveil the Claire Flowers clothing line, starting with blazers and pants, at the new Creve Coeur boutique located at 12520 Olive Blvd., Suite E. The grand opening will be held from noon to 9 p.m.
