Women Of Distinction: Newtown Fashion Maven Alisa Frederico Turns Trends Into Effortless, Affordable Styles

Every day is different in the high-fashion world of Alisa Frederico, owner and style director at Dressing Jane.

A Newtown resident, Alisa originally founded the company as a personal styling business after leaving a product development career at Urban Outfitters 10 years ago. She found her niche in simplifying the sometimes intimidating world of fashion and showing women how to look and feel good based on varied budgets.

Over time, her business expanded naturally into other venues. Now, she spends much of her time as an on-air contributor to television programs, including Fox29 Philadelphia and Fox5 New York.

“One day I might be styling for a TV segment, the next, I’m on QVC as a brand ambassador, scouting trends, or creating content for social media,” Alisa explains. “I also work directly with brands on consulting and collaborations.”

Alisa’s three decades in the fashion game have given her keen foresight into future trends.

“You start to see patterns emerge,” Alisa explains. “Social media plays a huge role in accelerating trends, and I also pay close attention to what’s happening in street style, pop culture and even interiors, because fashion and lifestyle trends often go hand in hand.”

For this summer, Alisa's keeping an eye out for relaxed silhouettes, playful details and nostalgic influences. She expects a season full of greens, blues, creams and plenty of brown.

“Boho-inspired layering is making a comeback, but with a more elevated and luxe aesthetic; think flowing fabrics, intricate textures and a refined, ethereal vibe,” she says. “At the same time, timeless, refined classics will remain strong, with a nod to the 90s and early 2000s.”
