My Favorite Things

Cheryl Stuart of Cheryl Stuart Cosmetics

Cheryl Stuart is not one to shy away from an adventure. A talented make-up artist and founder of Cheryl Stuart Cosmetics, she began her career as a hair stylist and lead singer of a band, where she was fortunate to travel the world with the USO. As a performer, she was always trying to achieve different make-up styles which sparked her passion for make-up artistry and a desire to have her own line of cosmetics. She eventually landed a job in a day spa, and in 1995 David and Galina Witchell invited her to become part of their team. Cheryl feels blessed to work alongside the best of the best, growing through experiences on the runway, and photo shoots for magazines and television. She says, “the industry is ever-changing and I still get excited to learn about new trends and products. I personally love meeting clients one-on-one to help them achieve the perfect look, give them a lesson on makeup application, and share special celebrations with them.” She adds, “the amazing women on our team have incredible talent and are unique and beautiful in their own way. Cheryl Stuart Cosmetics is a family that is one with the David J. Witchell family of passionate artists. I look forward to many more years of serving our community as a team!”

Travel Destination: Traveling anywhere in the world with my family is always a gift, but our go-to island, Aruba, has great food, consistently good weather, and the loveliest residents. It’s earned its name “One happy island”.

Favorite wines: My husband's hobby is exploring new wines, and we enjoy bringing family and friends together to share our favorites. My favorite Red right now is Hollywood & Vine 2480 Cabernet, and my favorite White, perfect for special occasions on a summer night, is Peter Michael Chardonnay.

Skincare: My favorite skincare item is our Cheryl Stuart LipToxyl X3. This lip product not only increases lip moisture by 60% in 30 days, but heals extremely dry lips. I keep one by my bed, in my car, and in my bag. It’s perfect to wear under a mask offering shine and moisture, without the color.

Indulgence: My favorite treat in town is found at The Newtown Hardware House….. yes, I said hardware store! The owner, Meg, makes her own cookies that she began selling to support the Alzheimer’s Foundation, and now donates $1 from the sale of each bag to support A Love For Life (Pancreatic Cancer Research) and other organizations. My favorite is definitely Chocolate Chip!

Gift Items: I always need a gift for someone and I can always find the perfect item large, or small at DJW Home. Most recently I filled a care package for my daughter at college with the cutest novelties!

Food specialty item: I can’t go a day without salad, BIG salads. I love to mix different types of greens, with lots of fresh herbs. Tubby Olive sells a Cranberry Pear balsamic vinegar that I mix with fresh lemon juice, a splash of regular balsamic, olive oil and black cracked pepper to make the perfect dressing for my salads!
