Nashville certainly has no shortage of shiny new restaurants. From swanky rooftop restaurants with sweeping city views to elegant hotel dining and everything in-between, there are loads of places around Music City with gorgeous interiors.
1. Tansuo
Open since 2017, the center of Maneet Chauhan's trio of North Gulch restaurants is a sleek, bi-level beauty, studded with an assortment of stunning handmade silk and bamboo lantern light fixtures. The Nashville-based designer also designed neighbor and sister restaurant Chauhan -- but cavernous, high-ceilinged Tansuo stands out with cozy deep turqoise blue banquettes downstairs and a large abacus railing lining the second floor. The team aimed for a classically modern feeling of comfort, warmth, and welcome with the use of lots of natural materials. Bamboo boards were carefully milled to create an exotic pattern, while artfully honed stone tiles are reminiscent of dragon scales. There is a purposeful use of circles that represent the circle of life, but also to break up the angular building structure and create a proper feng shui balance. Hand-punched golden brass pendants are scattered throughout the space, creating an aura of stars and firelight. "Tansuo" means "to explore" in Cantonese, and from the downstairs main dining area to the mezzanine and ample private dining space, the restaurant makes diners want to do exactly that. www.tansuonashville.com/
2. Audrey
Celebrity chef Sean Brock's flagship restaurant and stunning homage to his maternal grandmother exudes beauty not only in edible form but also in every turn in its interior. What might appear a little more art and photo gallery than dining establishment at first glance, Audrey's first-floor dining room is the epitome of an eclectic, Appalachian-inspired atmosphere. Warm woods, deep green, and leaf-shaped sconces bring an earthy feel to the space from local interior designer Katie Vance. Spindle-back chairs from late American woodworker George Nakashima fill the downstairs dining room. Pieces from Sean's museum-worthy personal folk art collection adorn the space alongside storied patchwork quilts. The open concept kitchen is a central focal point at Audrey, with an intriguing mix of materials taking the feel far beyond the traditional restaurant kitchen. 3. Liberty Common
SoBro's breathtaking Southern brasserie is a refreshing downtown escape with soaring ceilings and stunning imported, repurposed light fixtures. The stunning space is a sight to behold from Terry Raley/Amaranth Hospitality. The bright and beautiful restaurant, located across from Ascend Amphitheater on the first floor of the 222 building, is splashed with eye-catching light blue booths and black and white tile flooring.
