Greg Baroni
CEO and Managing Partner
Attain Sports
How did you end up in the DMV region?
I originally hail from California and made my way to the East Coast early in my career, more than 40 years ago...I had no real intention of leaving the West Coast…Long story short, I met my lovely bride—my wife Camille—while living in Washington, DC, and the DC Metro Region has been my home ever since!
Tell us a little about the journey.
After nearly 20 years at KPMG Consulting…[and] seven years at Unisys, in 2009, along with another colleague, I founded Attain, LLC. Over the course of 15 years, I have collaborated with my partners to grow the firm and ultimately created two additional companies. Today, Attain Enterprises, includes three unique companies: Attain Capital, Attain Sports and Attain Partners...Through Attain Sports, I have had the incredible privilege of becoming the owner of the Frederick Keys and getting to know and love this wonderful city.
What do you love most about what you do?
I have a strong passion for building culture/community, driving innovation and solving complex problems. At my core, I am driven to help improve humankind…cultural impact is a significant motivator for me.
This translates directly to America’s pastime, baseball, where a healthy team dynamic and commitment to respect and discipline are essential for success on the field. I find true fulfillment in seeing our team members grow and succeed.
Where do you like to go when you're in Frederick? Any favorite restaurants, shops, locations?
Well, you can’t miss a stop at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium! But, beyond that, Visit Frederick is a tremendous resource for all things local, including the museums that share the city’s rich heritage, like the National Museum of Civil War Medicine.

Frederick Keys
How did you end up in Frederick?
I am originally from New York City. After a stint in Arkansas I was looking to get back into baseball and came across the Frederick Keys GM job opening. After one trip up to Frederick, I knew that it was a wonderful community to raise a family and was excited by the ownership group’s vision for the team.
What do you love most about your role as GM of the Frederick Keys?
What I love most is the ability to make an impact on the community and provide a great family atmosphere at our games. There is nothing that I like more than to hear our fans talk about how they would come out to Frederick Keys games with their mom or dad when they were growing up and how much of an impact it had on them.
What do you love about Frederick?
I can’t say enough about the community and how welcoming everyone has been. I have talked to countless people who moved here within the last ten years and they have all told me “I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.” My favorite part about Frederick has to be the historic charm and the wonderful community of people who have made my transition so easy.

Manager
Frederick Keys
Where are you from?
I'm originally from San Diego. This is my second year with the Frederick Keys. Last year I was a hitting coach and this year I’m the Manager for the team.
What is your baseball background?
I first got into baseball when I was five years old—my uncle got me into it. I played little league up until high school. I attended San Diego HS and leveraged that into a scholarship at Southern Cal...I played in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and we won a Bronze medal. We were the last Olympic college team…I got drafted in the second round in 1996, and I signed professionally with the Minnesota Twins...played for several MLB teams over about 10 years, including: Chicago Cubs, Detroit Tigers and Florida Marlins.
What do you love most about baseball?
It’s a game within a game…trying to figure out what the pitcher is doing and the pitcher is trying to figure out what I am doing. Then you have your teammates…especially when I was in Minnesota, it was like a brotherhood. I have several life-long friends from that time.
What do you like about Frederick?
Frederick is slower than other places, which I love! I love the calmness and peacefulness. I love to play golf at Musket Ridge. I enjoy my time here when I’m here!
I have had the incredible privilege of becoming the owner of the Frederick Keys and getting to know and love this wonderful city.
