For more than 20 years, Larry Bray has helped people in the Nashville area navigate the world of estate planning.

Bray, a Memphis native and attorney with Patterson Bray PLLC, loves that his job allows him to continuously meet new families and help them feel confident and secure in their future.  Whether it be transitioning wealth to the next generation or protecting assets from lawsuits and predators, Bray wants families who work with him to know they’re in good hands.

“I say I’m a white hat attorney because we’re helping solve problems rather than create them,”  Bray says. “It’s always a new endeavor with each client.”

He says his experience and education over the last two decades, including being a member of several national networks of attorneys, have provided the foundation for him to represent clients in the Nashville area.

Bray has worked in Brentwood for the last 25 years and constantly meets people new to the area thanks to the boom in Tennessee’s population in recent years.

“You get all different types of people to work with who may need to update their estate plan to the laws of the State of Tennessee,” Bray says. “So many people moving here also means tons of restaurants that you can’t keep up with.”

In his free time, Bray loves attending sporting events, such as Predators and Titans games. He also loves traveling and spending quality time with his family.

He says family means everything to him, and he understands his clients feel the same way. He says the most fulfilling part of his job is always hearing how families feel knowing they’ll be set up for success in the future.

“When we complete an estate plan or asset protection plan for clients, what I always hear is that they have peace of mind,” Bray says. “They can know that their objectives are going to be  accomplished in the most efficient way possible, their family will be taken care of, and their  children will be protected.”

Bray recognizes that investing in an attorney means a lifelong relationship built by trust. He says Patterson Bray works to nurture relationships with clients by staying in contact throughout the year through an annual review or newsletters.

“We want to make sure we’re keeping their plans as current as they can be and they are updated on changes in tax laws or Tennessee state statutes,” Bray says.

While Bray works primarily on estate planning, he says Patterson Bray is a full-service firm,  offering broad practice areas, such as litigation, business planning, defense work, divorce and family law, and post-death administration.
