Finding the root cause

Helping women gain control of their bodies and minds

Dr. Mildred Watson-Baylor specializes in reproductive and maternal mental health for women, couples, and families. During her training and clinical journey, she recognized that this was an area she wanted to focus on.

“I often encountered patients who would come in for one issue, but then share anxieties and concerns about their reproductive and maternal mental health,” said Dr. Watson-Baylor. “Getting to the root cause is how I landed in the reproductive and maternal mental health world.”

With a doctorate in clinical psychology, and with over 10 years of experience as a licensed professional counselor, she opened her practice in the Vinings area, which was a major achievement for her.

“I really wanted to work with women. I do work with other folks with other challenges as well. But the majority of my clients are couples who are dealing with reproductive mental health challenges.”

Dr. Watson-Baylor offers a supportive space for her clients to share their concerns, while giving them coping skills and assisting with decision making, whether they are dealing with infertility, reproductive loss, postpartum depression, or birth trauma. She also counsels those who are facing challenges with pain management from disorders such as endometriosis, fibroids, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
