When Mark Holly, Sharon Whisnand, and Bob Lombardi came together to create Art As Emotion (artasemotion.com), they did so with a common vision: to bring Texas artists before the eyes, hearts, and minds of art curators and connoisseurs across the state and beyond.
“The Texas art scene is quickly coming into its own, similar to how the Texas wine-making and craft beer brewing scenes have grown over the last decade,” says photographer, Mark Holly. “Collectors are realizing that San Antonio, Houston, Austin, Dallas — and everywhere in between — all have much to offer in the way of art, with artists comparable in skill and vision to those found on the U.S coasts and internationally. Great art isn’t limited to select geographic areas; it is created everywhere. And with the picturesque scenery and robust culture of Texas, how can an artist here not be inspired to create?”
From this point of view, the Master Artwork Show was born. The event, taking place November 19 and 20 at The Bevy Hotel in Boerne, will feature select Texas artists showcasing original paintings, photography, metal sculptures, handcrafted jewelry, and more.
“There will truly be something for everyone,” says Mark. “It’s an upscale exhibition and sale unlike anything we’ve seen in Boerne before.”
The Master Artwork Show is free and open to the public. A portion of proceeds will benefit Ballet San Antonio. Find more details and sponsorship information at masterartworkshow.com.
