Dr. Jenna Cash is a physician at Lone Star Kids Care in Allen. She grew up in Mesquite and attended the University of North Texas for her undergraduate studies as well as UNT’s Health Science Center for medical school. She completed her residency at Penn State Children’s Hospital.
“I wanted to be a teacher when I was young, then I did my 7th grade careers project on a career in public relations,” Cash recounts. “I didn’t get interested in medicine until high school AP biology.”
As soon as Cash realized that she wanted to become a physician, she knew it would involve pediatrics because she has always loved working with children.
“I love talking to 5-year-olds; they say the funniest things,” Cash shares. “I love seeing the babies, and helping new parents. I also really enjoy talking to the teens — really all ages!”
One daily challenge that Cash faces is the hurdles that come with different medical insurances and policies. However, she makes it a personal goal to be a trustworthy and knowledgeable resource for patients and families.
When she is not in the clinic you can find Cash at the park with her children or volunteering at their school. She also spends time at the lake or at Vacation Bible Study at her church, or anywhere else (as she puts it) “kid related!”
Cash feels honored to be named First Responder of the Month, and she gives thanks and acknowledgement to her family and friends who have always been “incredibly supportive.”
