Five Places to Donate or Volunteer

Local places to make a difference with time and money all year round

This time of year always brings out the philanthropic side of people. Residents seek out volunteer opportunities and places to donate goods and money. Here is a list of local Northwest Valley organizations that need volunteers and donations—not just in November, but all year round. 

1—For Those Without a Voice 

For Those Without a Voice supports Arizona's children and animals living with distressing circumstances. The organization always needs monetary contributions and volunteers to help out at various events throughout the year. FTWAV.org

2—AZ Compassion in Action 

AZ Compassion in Action assists those in urgent need of food, clothing, diapers and furniture. AZCIA is always looking for the right people to help link valuable resources to those in need. 3—StreetLight USA 

StreetLightUSA assists teen girls suffering from significant trauma due to abuse that puts them at risk. There are several ways to give to this organization, including a monthly monetary gift or by donating items off the wish list. StreetLightUSA.org

4—Thrive Arizona 

The vision of Thrive AZ is to help prevent children from being removed from their families due to a lack of basic needs and resources. ThriveAZ works in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Child Safety caseworkers to help reunify children from the foster care system with their biological families. 5—Soldier's Best Friend 

Soldier's Best Friend is a non-profit that provides U.S. military veterans living with combat-related PTSD or traumatic brain injuries with dogs, most of which have been rescued from local shelters.
