Boerne Lifestyle visited two area wineries to obtain suggestions for tasty wine and food pairings. Following are the suggested pairings.
Sister Creek Vineyard paired a spicy shrimp dish served over rice with its sweet white Muscat Canelli. The sweetness of the wine will contrast with the spices on the shrimp. Singing Waters Vineyard's Muscat was awarded Best of Show for Sweet Wine at the San Antonio Rodeo Wine Competition. It was one of the 14 champion wines selected out of 875 entries.
Robust-bodied red wines are the perfect complement to heartier, more flavorful foods. The tannins in bold reds like Bending Branch Winery’s Texas Tannat or Texas Cabernet Sauvignon are balanced out by the salt and fat in a grilled ribeye steak.
