There's no better place in Tucson for "Found Finds" than Midtown Mercantile Merchants. Midtown is a local vintage and antique marketplace made up of hundreds of independent vendors, each with their booth. While Midtown Mercantile Merchants is located in the city at 3330 E. Speedway, many of the Merchants reside in the foothills, including me!
Midtown Merchants Mercantile has been a staple in Tucson for nine years. This time last year, they packed up and moved down Speedway into the old Bookman's space. Moving over 100 vendors into the new 24,000-square-foot space in the Rancho shopping center took three days. The complex's exterior has been undergoing a makeover for the last year, with completion of their part of the mall expected later this year.
Owner Tami Mitchell used to run a design and staging business. When another local antique mall closed back in 2014, she decided to open a brick-and-mortar store. She started her store with the goal of creating community. She wants everyone to come in and feel like they are a part of the store. Aside from the community of vendors she has brought together under one roof, she also hosts local events in the space, often partnering with other local businesses.
At Midtown Mercantile Merchants, you'll find an ever-changing, wide array of items: Everything from vintage clothing and furniture to art and jewelry! Midtown offers shoppers an alternative to the shopping experience at big-box stores. It offers you a chance to hunt for unique items to fill your home and closet with, rather than the mass-produced items that are everywhere these days. Strolling the rows of vendors at Midtown should be on everyone's radar this summer as you hunt for activities to get out of the heat!
