Frederick’s Fourth

Celebrate Independence Day with exciting events across Frederick County.

Frederick
Kick off the celebration July 3rd at 7 p.m. with the Frederick Keys Fireworks Extravaganza at Nymeo Field. Then, head to Baker Park on July 4th from noon to dusk for Frederick County's largest Independence Day celebration. Enjoy two stages of entertainment, family-friendly rides, activities for kids, food trucks, beer gardens and more.

Thurmont
Celebrate with a truly unique experience at Catoctin Furnace in Thurmont. Explore blacksmithing demonstrations, children's activities and tours of the Museum of the Ironworker and the Collier's Log House, Isabella Furnace ruins and casting shed and the African American Cemetery Trail. Open extended hours July 4th-6th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Brunswick
Brunswick's annual Independence Fireworks Display returns July 3rd near the Brunswick Middle School Complex. Join the community for an evening filled with spectacular color and light. The fireworks show will begin at dark, around 9 p.m. The rain date is set for July 5th.

Walkersville
Celebrate with a nostalgic train ride on the Walkersville Southern Railroad. Departing at 8 p.m., the train carries passengers to a special viewing spot for a stunning fireworks display. Bring a blanket and a flashlight for a cozy, family-friendly evening under the stars.
