From running to dance, Dee Dee Vitek spent her life being active. She had tried out every workout there was, but following the birth of her second child, she sought an experience that was challenging yet modifiable for her postpartum body. Enter: Pure Barre, a studio that fuses Pilates, yoga, and ballet.
“I took my first Pure Barre class in 2008 and never looked back. The technique was unlike anything I’d ever done,” says Vitek. “It was more than just an amazing workout; it also gave me a sense of peace. I walked out of every class feeling stronger both physically and mentally.”
One thing that drew Vitek to Pure Barre was its small group setting. It allows the team to truly connect with their first-timers and understand their personal goals.
Come 2013, she was utilizing her past experience instructing group fitness classes and training to become a teacher. And just under one year ago, she was fulfilling her dream of owning her second home, the Pure Barre Cedar Park studio.
“I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most amazing women. We have laughed, cried, seen new babies enter the world, and watched other babies—including my own—head off to college,” says Vitek. “The friendships that happen within our four walls is what creates the place we call PBCP—aka, our happy place!”
For anyone starting out, Vitek recommends their Pure Engage™ introductory class. This 30-minute full-body workout encompasses all four class formats, focusing on low-impact, high-intensity movements to improve strength, agility, and flexibility.
“We welcome all, and we encourage each other to be the happiest, healthiest versions of ourselves,” says Vitek. “I hope that anyone who walks through our doors to take their first class feels supported no matter where they are in their fitness journey.”
