Thanksgiving is a time for reflection and gratitude. In addition to contemplating life's aspects that are appreciated, it's also a perfect occasion to think about others, who may be less fortunate, by giving monetary gifts, donations or simply volunteering. Be sure to inquire whether employers may provide matching funds to financial donations. Here are some local opportunities in the Frisco region for making contributions.

Some of the most needed items in food banks are canned soup, fruit, vegetables, stew, fish and beans, along with pasta and rice.
