I’m a sucker for a good New Year’s Resolution, but I’m also the typical person who starts off strong and then slowly starts to fall off come March. This year, I’m going to try something new: a word to live by for 2025. Intention.
January is a time to reset and remind us what’s really important. To set those intentions for the year ahead. I like to think about this for all areas of my life—business owner, wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend and community connector.
My intention will continue to bring you amazing stories each and every month, featuring all the great people in our community who continue to make a difference. I intend to grow this magazine and work with even more businesses in our community.
My family is my rock each and every day. I’ve done a pretty good job of balancing business owner/wife/mom, but there’s always room for improvement. This year my intention is to work on patience when it comes to 5th grade math, try to be on time to practice and games, and just play more. The time really is starting to go by fast and enjoying these small moments together as a family is everything. That includes my own parents and sister who I only get to see a few times of year. But soaking up those precious moments together and not over planning our visits are where memories are made.
Not having immediate family around turns friends into family. My intention is to make some of these friendships even stronger. To listen when they tell me to take a break. To hear their intentions when they try to help but I think I can handle it all. My friends truly are family to me. I intend to make sure they always know that, too.
My biggest intention of all this year is to live by example and continue to connect to you. I hope you, too, can join me this year! Start with a simple goal: How would you like to be seen this year?
Cheers to 2025!
