Snowball Cookies and Prosecco

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, finely chopped
    • Tip: Use food processor to "chop" your nuts if doubling or tripling the recipe!
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 stick room temperature unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar, to coat cookies once baked

Directions

  1. Mix all dry ingredients—flour, walnuts, salt, sugar—in a large bowl

  2. Add vanilla extract

  3. Add butter in small pieces. Combine everything until butter is mixed well with dry ingredients. The mixture should clump easily.

  4. Preheat oven to 300°F

  5. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes in the fridge or up to overnight

  6. Line baking sheet with parchment

  7. Form dough into small balls and place about an inch apart on cookie sheet

  8. Bake for 35 minutes

  9. When cookies are still warm, roll them in the powdered sugar. Set aside on a rack

  10. When cookies are completely cooled, dust with powdered sugar
