What started as a family’s big idea has become one of the most recognized names in Tennessee’s Powersports world. Mid Tenn Powersports blends small-town charm with big-league inventory—offering customers not just machines, but a lifestyle.
David and Alex Isaacs, the husband-and-wife team behind the growing dealership group, juggle a full plate: running two bustling Powersports stores and raising their young children. But for the Isaacs, building a thriving business has always gone hand-in-hand with building a life they love—and making sure their employees can do the same.
“We wanted to create a company culture where work-life balance is a priority,” says David. “If we value that for our own family, we know our team does too.” This outlook has shaped every aspect of their operation—from flexible schedules to thoughtful compensation plans—and has helped reduce staff turnover while increasing morale and customer satisfaction.
The road to Powersports began with a phone call in 2016. Alex, then a teacher in Louisiana, got a call from her father, longtime auto dealer Eddie Collier, about a business opportunity in Columbia, Tennessee. A week later, the two were at AIMExpo, exploring options. By mid-2017, they launched Columbia Powersports, with Alex stepping in as partner and general manager. Eddie continued running his car dealerships but stayed closely involved in the new venture, helping implement automotive-style systems that brought structure and efficiency to the Powersports space.
Three years later, David, who had been working at Polaris, joined the business full-time. Not long after, the couple tied the knot—and began laying the foundation for a major expansion.
The success of their first location led to interest from major OEMs, and soon the couple had their eyes set on a second site. They acquired the long-standing Howard’s Honda dealership in Nashville and, while running operations there, began developing a new state-of-the-art facility on an 18-acre lot off Interstate 40. In April 2024, Mid Tenn Powersports officially moved into its new 70,000-square-foot headquarters here in Lebanon.
“It was a huge team effort,” says David. “From relocating inventory to setting up new departments, our staff went above and beyond.” That teamwork paid off—today, Columbia and Lebanon locations support nearly 80 employees and growing.
Mid Tenn Powersports offers something for every outdoor enthusiast: off-road vehicles, motorcycles, personal watercraft, pontoon boats, jet boats, and golf carts. The dealership stocks top brands like Polaris, Honda, Can-Am, Yamaha, Suzuki, Sea-Doo, and Bennington, all under one roof. Their full-service operation includes financing, parts, accessories, maintenance, and even vehicle pickup and delivery.
Though they've grown rapidly, the Isaacs haven’t lost sight of their grassroots beginnings. “We’re proud to be locally owned and operated,” Alex says. “We want people to walk in and feel like they’re part of something exciting—something personal.”
That personal touch extends to their marketing, led by Alex’s sister Catherine, who has helped shape a brand that’s focused less on hard sales and more on lifestyle. “We use social media to reflect who we are,” says Alex. “That’s what connects with people.”
From their first sale in 2017 to a booming two-location enterprise, Mid Tenn Powersports is proof that passion, purpose, and a strong team can take you a long way—both on and off the road.
