In a setting unlike any others, tucked into the Ponderosa pines of Arizona’s high country in Flagstaff lies the 600-plus-acre Pine Canyon, a private, master-planned golf course and residential community.
The destination offers more than just luxurious, inviting homes and stunning views of the San Francisco Peaks. Here, there’s a Jay Morris-designed, 18-hole championship golf course; a 35,000-square-foot clubhouse; a second recreation-focused amenity building; spa tennis courts; pools; and more. There are also plenty of family-friendly amenities, including Camp Pine Canyon, organized sports and a stocked fishing pond.
At Pine Canyon, an inspired lifestyle is the central focus.
Homes
The options for homes here were designed to accommodate every lifestyle and range from elegant cabins, townhomes and condominiums to custom estate homes and homesites. There are also the Club Cabins, which are 12 luxury cabins that are available for residents who temporarily need extra space, those visiting on a discovery visit, or those waiting for the completion of their home.
Things to Do
From relaxing in your own home soaking up the surrounding scenery to getting active outdoors to cultural events, there’s always an activity.
One big draw of Pine Canyon is the golf course. The course offers challenging play, several elevation changes, lush fairways and greens, and stunning views. Pine Canyon also partners with Caddie Master, an esteemed caddie program.
At the clubhouse, find a private spa retreat as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center with personal trainers and group class options. There is also a full tennis program.
Hiking and biking trails abound in the area, and Trout Creek Park includes a playground, badminton court and shuffleboard area, as well as a catch-and-release fishing pond. Pine Canyon also has a small ice skating rink in the winter.
Pine Canyon also offers a Symmetry in Motion program, a schedule filled with activities such as hikes, paddleboard/kayaking, mountain biking, speaker presentations, and even Scotland golf and Napa Wine Country trips.
For kids, there’s Camp Pine Canyon in the summer, a place where recreation staff is available to watch them as they slide down the waterslide, play games, swim in the pool or participate in other fun activities.
Dining
At the clubhouse, members find everything from casual dining to expertly prepared gourmet meals. There is a cocktail lounge, a large patio and a 1,700-bottle wine room.
New This Year
In late 2019, Pine Canyon will debut Morrish Station—named in honor of golf course architect Jay Morrish and chosen in honor of Flagstaff’s start as a railroad town—featuring a 1944 Santa Fe railroad car which will be located directly above the 9th green. The grill will offer light fare in a coffee bistro setting and include patio-style seating.
