How did you decide on the multiple dining concepts at the hotel?
Sam: It was an organic process, but I knew I wanted an array of restaurants that highlight my favorite dishes and flavors from countries and cultures around the world. From Le Âme and Le Market’s classic French fare, to Pink Dolphin’s whimsical Mexican and Peruvian-inspired menu, to the Lobby Bar’s sophisticated and lively vibe, and finally to our rooftop jewel, théa, we want guests to have everything under one roof.
Pro tips on ordering?
Sam: Indulge in the ultimate evening at the Lobby Bar by ordering the “Adult Happy Meal” featuring your choice of a perfectly crafted Vodka or Gin Martini with hand-stuffed olives, accompanied by Truffle Frites. Also, order the best quesadilla in town at our poolside restaurant.
théa, the property's top-floor destination, was inspired by the sun-soaked Mediterranean region. However, there’s deeper meaning to the name…
Sam: In Greek mythology, “thea” means “Goddess of Light,” which is perfectly apt for a picturesque sky-high setting that basks in the shadow of Arizona’s famed Camelback Mountain.
What was your vision for incorporating cocktail hour into rooms and suites?
Sam: We aimed to reimagine the hotel mini bar as a full-scale cocktail experience. Guests can craft their perfect drink right in their room, with premium ingredients like Withco Cocktail Mixers, large block ice, and fresh citrus for garnishes.
What went into selecting the linens?
Sam: We wanted to curate an assortment of the best linen brands available to our guests. Myself and the team sampled and tested every linen in the building spanning sheets to towels. Most hotels would have one line of linens in guest rooms, but we selected three varieties for linens, towels and robes.
