For over a decade, Barry has poured his heart and soul into the betterment of Gallatin, driven by a profound love for its people and heritage.
When asked about his affection for Gallatin, Barry's eyes light up with pride. “It's the people of Gallatin who make the difference. They are so friendly and helpful, and they are proud of their community and are willing to lend a helping hand when they are needed," he says. Their warmth, generosity and pride in their community have captivated Barry's heart, fueling his unwavering dedication.
One moment that stands out in Barry's memory is the Gallatin Eclipse Encounter of 2017. "We had visitors from all over the world in Gallatin that day," he recalls. The event not only showcased Gallatin's hospitality but also demonstrated its ability to unite in celebration, with local agencies and volunteers coming together seamlessly. Barry is also involved in projects like the Temple Theatre in Portland and the County Sumner Irish Festival that reflects his commitment to preserving Gallatin's cultural heritage while embracing growth.
Despite his impressive resume, Barry remains humble, focusing on the future of Gallatin. "I think it's important to keep our historic downtown culture and character," he emphasizes. It's this vision that continues to inspire him to bring locals and visitors alike to downtown Gallatin, ensuring its legacy endures.

Influenced by 60s folk-rock and literary luminaries, Kevin’s work pushes traditional boundaries, encompassing experimental filmmaking, performance art and conceptual photography. His poetry, an exploration of masking, otherness and the power of nature, challenges readers to see beyond the ordinary. As Gallatin’s artistic ambassador, Kevin not only celebrates the city's cultural heritage but also ignites its future through various local art events like the Gallatin Book Readers Collective and Avant-Garde Film Nights.
